Chapter 2: Starting a new map.

Okay, now that that's done, we can deal with things you'll need to do at the start of every map. Go to File -> New, and you'll get the Map Options box. There will be a few things there. First, there's a drop box. Click it, and select Sonic Robo Blast 2. Next to that is the Name Box. For now, and for all maps, type in MAP01.

*SIDENOTE* I should mention that you won't need to put in MAP01 for every map. If you are making a level pack or something, you'll need MAP02 and MAP03 and all that. For now, however, just stick to MAP01 *ENDNOTE*

*EQUIPMENT*
Mouse with scroll wheel. If you don't see note below

*SIDENOTE* If you don't have a scroll wheel, things are a little tricky. Go to Configuration, and go to Shortcut Keys. Scroll all the way to the bottom, and you'll see Zoom In and Zoom Out. Set these to something that makes sense, like + and -. Click Okay, and rejoin us all *ENDNOTE*

*SIDENOTE (again)* If for some reason your mouse does not have a right mouse button, all functions in DoomBuilder that use the right mouse button are easily substituted by a double click.*ENDNOTE*

Now, back to the main screen. This is the map. Those grey lines make up the grid. If you look to the bottom, you'll see a helpful bar full of info. Amoung other things, you'll see that the grid is 64, and the zoom is 100%. You can change the grid anywhere from 1 to 1024 by pressing [ and ]. Zoom in by scrolling the mouse wheel up, or by pressing your Zoom In key. Zooming out is much the same. From now on, I'll just refer to these as zooming in and out. Anyway, play around a bit, then move on to the next step.
